This morning, while looking at the latest Threadless tees, I found one by Phil Jones. This is actually his second winning tee of late. He became a member of Threadless about a year later than I joined, so he had to find a different user name. I have only ever submitted one design for critique, and none as a finished design. I think I could win, especially with the critiques to help refine the design. Designing a winning tee is not far from a month’s worth of wages, and it’s way more than the paltry sum I’m making through commissions right now. This is definitely something I should start working on.

Around one in the afternoon Laura and I left the house. I was heading toward Starbucks to meet with Jessie, to work on our new project, and Laura was off to Yes Montreal, for an information session. She says I should go to one too, and I may very well go to the one on Thursday.

Attempting to work at Starbucks is incredibly difficult as the surroundings are so  distracting. I don’t know how countless students manage to study there.

After a while of not having the Internet we decided to head over to Jessie’s to work. We got much more done there, despite her not having a table and the laptop overheating my lap. We really need to set up somewhere more appropriate. The kitchen table here might cut it, but even that may be a little cramped, especially if I’m going to start water colouring. Really a place at school would be best, except then I don’t have as comfortable and easy access to all my tools. And food. UGH!

When we had planned to meet, I felt like we had so much to discuss and plan. By the time we got together, I had no idea what there was to do, other than just starting to design the site. I guess the visual identity was what today’s efforts were about.

I want so badly to do more group projects, more often. Or even just co-working: working in the same room as other people, at the same time, possibly showing your work to the others, just getting things done in a productive, creative atmosphere. I want to be there.

Tomorrow evening is an indie gaming event, organized by Stephen Ascher. That’s a fairly exciting prospect!
