Lynne Quarmby, a biochemistry and cellular biology prof at SFU, needed a website for her lab and later a sister site to host science essays written by peers. The site’s aesthetic was heavily influenced by Lynne’s field of study, specifically the chlamydomonas, a genus of green algae. The algae is a vibrant green, which I used as the primary brand colour against a grey microscopic slide of chlamydomonas.

After the site was done, Lynne was so pleased she asked that I design some matching stationary.
